Cheap Trick
Cheap Trick has been rocking stages and winning over fans with their timeless sound for over five decades. Known for their electrifying live performances, catchy melodies, and innovative songwriting, Cheap Trick has become a staple in rock music history. With hits like “I Want You to Want Me”, “Dream Police”, “The Flame”, and “Surrender,” this legendary band continues to inspire and entertain audiences with their signature blend of hard rock and power-pop sensibilities. They achieved mainstream popularity in the US in 1979 with the triple-platinum live album At Budokan and a Top 10 single, a live recording of “I Want You to Want Me.” More success followed with the album Dream Police in 1979, which reached number 6 on the Billboard 200.The band experienced another resurgence in late eighties when they topped US charts with power ballad “The Flame.” Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, Cheap Trick maintain an almost constant touring schedule, having performed live more than 5,000 times since their formation, selling more than 20 million albums and building a dedicated cult following.

Pat Metheny requires, of course, no introduction. One of the most accomplished instrumentalists of the last half-century, Metheny is a lyrical and versatile guitar player, even his most dizzying moments threaded through with charming seams of melody. He has seemingly played with everyone, whether touring with Joni Mitchell or dueting with Jim Hall, collaborating with Ornette Coleman or Ahmad Jamal, and building bands with Jaco Pastorius or Charlie Haden. Metheny has helmed some of the most adventurous jazz outfits ever. He is a sensitive and spirited sort, his work always a simultaneous expression of his own feelings and an astute interaction with the musicians who surround him.A decade ago, Metheny, whose Rolodex is absolutely limitless, decided to surround himself with some new talent. He built Side-Eye, a band whose title referred to the politics of the moment but whose aim was more sanguine: to use Metheny’s star power and experience to elevate young musicians he found inspiring. They all sport diverse résumés with experiences far outside of Metheny’s world—which, of course, is how they help him find new ground via Side-Eye.
